I took my 6 year old daughter, who has the attention span of a 6 year old, and she wants to see it again. Is this sequel following the same path that the last Shrek films took, or does it shine on its own? I don't really bash 3D though. There is a teaser at the end that seems to predict a third movie. Lord Shen was warned by a fortune teller, Soothsayer Michelle Yeoh , that he will be defeated by a panda and previously tried to kill all the pandas. It's all kick butt action. An exception to this style occurs in some of the fighting seen at the end, but it's not too bad so most should be able to slide ignore it. We even get a whole lot more funny comedy than the first.
All the classic elements of those great kung fu flicks are there, while still keeping it pleasantly G-rated. As entertaining and well-choreographed as it was, it didn't pass my bar for mediocre DreamWorks animated movies. Besides Po, Shifu and Oogway, the rest of the cast seemed pretty 'phoned-in'. It had everything: amazing story, great characters, not to mention great humor. The story, or should I say stories, are detailed enough to provide character development that older audiences will like, but at the same time is catchy, simple, and fun enough to allow younger audience members to get a gist of what's going on.
Let me get this out of the way: this movie has some of the greatest 3D animated fight scenes. Can he turn his dreams of becoming a Kung Fu master into reality? As Po learns that he is adopted, he struggles to find out about his past and the strange symbol from his nightmares. But I remember, Dreamworks already understand how to make a true good animated movie so I don't have to worry. Some new release movies become unavailable for downloading for a limited time due to licensing restrictions. Therefore, I waited a month after I got the movie to even open it and watch it. I was almost dreading seeing this movie - we won tickets to the screener and from the first scene I found myself laughing out loud.
I won't say any more in fear of spoiling the story, but be prepared for a powerful emotional experience. The heavy subject matter doesn't weight down the movie and is continually and cleverly able to escape into funny moments without losing gravitas. As a final note, maybe it's because of my eyesight with a weaker left eye, I barely noticed the 3D at all. Lord Shen, an albino peacock banished by his parents many years ago, has returned with a technology capable of ending kung fu and conquering China. This enables you to watch the video without an Internet connection. Lord Shen Gary Oldman is obsessed with power and wiping out the kung fu masters like Master Ox Dennis Haysbert , Master Croc Jean-Claude Van Damme , and Master Rhino Victor Garber.
That's not to say Kung Fu Panda 2 doesn't have humor; actually, it has exactly the right amount at the right time. One hilarious moment after another continues until Shifu recognizes Po's true driving force. Gary Oldman is definitely good at being a villain in movies even if it's animated. The villain is really well-done and completely beats the one from the first movie. I can't imagine anyone but Jack Black pulling off the voice though - he definitely made the movie for me. Jean-Claude Van Damme is awesome even though his scenes were few. Just watch the jailbreak and you'll understand.
And the lesson is taught very well throughout the movie. I went to see the midnight premiere, and boy was I not disappointed! I hope that whoever produced this one will be in charge of it, so that the excellence carries on. I just said this movie is as good as the first movie but if I had to pick which Kung Fu Panda movie is better then it would be the first one. This is just in time as the villain Tai Lung Ian McShane , a snow leopard has returned as he believe is the true Dragon Warrior. It had everything the first film had and more.
This movie was indeed better than the first! It was amusing and had some heart, but all-in-all was pretty expected. And there is also great character development as well. With that said, her character was nicely developed; I would have liked to see more of that in the rest of the Five. It successfully weaves the topics of fatherhood, friendship and family into a colorful story that even though we know how it will end, it gets there very very emphatically. He has 75% of the lines in the script and that is not a bad thing.
Oleh Dunia21 Synopsis In the Valley of Peace, Po Ping is revelling in his fulfilled dreams as he serves as the fabled Dragon Warrior protecting his home with his heroes now his closest friends. The heart is also there. What else can I say? If applicable, we will notify you about this before processing your order. Other big name stars don't shine as much, but that's because their roles are rather limited in the film. And the meaning behind the story may be even better! Definitely a keeper for my collection. Remember Megamind, It feels like you were flying in every flying sequences.
The new comers from the cast did a great job. This was certainly a flawed character, one that a lot of people can relate to because he dreams, he's funny, and he can laugh at himself. Po becomes haunted by flashbacks of his past that hinders his fighting ability. The story still has a heart and some scenes can almost move you to tears. Let me preface by saying I was rather unimpressed with the first Kung Fu Panda. Certainly this is marketed for the kids but the whole family will enjoy it. With the use of canons and a wolf army lead by Wolf Boss Danny McBride , his evil scheme is brought to the attention of Po and Furious Five, as they raid a local city for metal to build more canons.
What really brings all of these strengths together though is the camera and musical works that add that finishing touch to the movie. Po isn't as much of a gastro-kung-fu fighter and fanboi from the first movie but has grown in his personality; he's less the Jack Black as a panda and more of a character that stands on it's own. You can Watch Now or Download the video to a , except for Pay-Per-View videos. I take back everything I said earlier because, man oh man, I have to admit that Kung Fu Panda 2 was one of the best animated films I have ever seen. I can not recommend this movie enough. The question that has been floating around about Kung Fu Panda 2 is if it is Shrek 2 or Toy Story 2 of animated sequels? My wife and I enjoyed it so much that we saw it again the night after.
