During series 4, recently engaged Mark and Sophie visit Sophie's parents, and Jez has sex with Sophie's mother. Mark loses his job at a bank because of a he gave Jez ironically, to exploit him previously without asking for correct identification paperwork, and he is replaced by his rival Jeff. Jeremy and Zahra eventually have sex together, unbeknownst to Ben. His relationship with Mark is fairly neutral - the two have absolutely nothing in common, but Hans appears to be less aware of Mark's social awkwardness than others, and Mark is incredibly tolerant of Hans' eccentric behaviour. Her nickname comes from her towering height. After a with Sophie following their break-up, she becomes pregnant and later gives birth to Mark's child.
It had had a good run: 54 eps of a consistently high standard, putting it in a bracket with the likes of Steptoe, Dad's Army and Fools and Horses - and it is just as good as those. It is revealed in the second episode of the ninth series, that his real name is Simon. Jez meets, falls in love with and starts an with Nancy , an attractive and happy-go-lucky. She affects an interest in many refined subjects that are beyond Jez, such as foreign-language films and classic literature like , which he pretends to know about and be interested in in order to impress her. However, trouble seems to follow him around, and when Super Hans asks him to help out a friend, it could spell the end for the El Dude Brothers. The show did not work out but the four developed as a partnership, and one idea eventually evolved into Peep Show for.
Big Suze breaks up with Jez once again after Johnson offers to pay him in order to have sex with her and he agrees. He beats up Mark when he discovers Mark had been tracking Dobby's movements. Through Series 8, Simon tries to get Dobby back after she reveals she is going to move in with Mark. Super Hans ends up leaving for to open a moped hire business and leaves Mark and Jez right back where they always end up due to their bad choices, with Mark losing his newest relationship and job, while Jez remains a loser who is stuck in a rut with no prospects. Mark is a socially awkward and despondent loan manager with a outlook on life, while Jeremy is an irresponsible, juvenile and talentless, unemployed musician who lives in Mark's spare room.

When Jeremy goes cap in hand to ask for a loan it appears Mark might have his chance for revenge. He asks out the girl, Dobby , although the date ends badly when they find a vomiting Sophie in the toilets, who reveals to Dobby that she is married to him. When head-mounted cameras are not used, scenes are filmed with the camera being held over the actor's shoulder, or directly in front of their face; each scene is therefore shot multiple times from different angles. Shortly afterwards, Jez claims to Toni that he has a in order to receive sexual action from her. Because of her hatred for Jeremy, Hans asks Mark to be his best man at their wedding. He is dapper, highly confident and maintains a particularly reckless approach to business and life. Jez does this, whilst she is from her husband, Tony. Jeremy quickly falls in love with her, but things deteriorate when it is revealed that Elena has a long-term partner, Gail, who is returning to. Sophie goes into early, and with Mark forced to reveal he cannot drive, a Jeremy attempts to drive Sophie to the hospital and nearly runs down Gail. Jeremy and Hans get a manager, Cally, for their band and go to a music festival. He appears to have had a miserable upbringing, and is terrified of his father.
After meeting the businessman father of the girls, Mark attempts to secure a job with him in as a means of escaping his impending wedding. The first episode of series 6 — the first to be shown in its new earlier time slot of 10pm — attracted Peep Show's highest ratings to date, with 1. Dobby has moved to and has a new boyfriend. When Mark comes to meet him the next morning the two find themselves locked in Zahra's flat, causing Ben to discover them and Mark to miss his son's christening. Jez's efforts to get back together with Suze are hindered somewhat by Hans's attempts to go. Since subject of the show was Youth - that's why the grand finale consists of Jeremy turning 40 - it obviously had a built in sell-by date. Joe leaves Jez after his lies about him being popular and young are caught out, and he claims he is tired of partying all the time.
Mark, however, thrives in her company and is given the job of writing her boyfriend's military biography. Jez and Hans join a cult. After several attempts to avoid marrying, including proposing marriage to a member of staff in a local café, stepping out in front of a car, and hiding in the church, Mark, with visible reluctance, marries Sophie. She first appears having split up with her husband. Suze is posh, though she appears to want to become more average.
He often makes references to and in relation to events that happen in his day to day life. He invents a fictitious dinner party to get her into the flat, but things do not look good when she calls to ask if she can bring her husband. At the start of series 6, she discovers that she is pregnant with Mark, Jeremy, or Jeff's child. He is of constant surprise to the others, including in the last episode of the seventh series in which he has apparently found the love of his life, a previously unseen East Asian woman who speaks no English, but a tiny bit of German. In Series 7, he and Mark form The Dobby Club, an organisation of two who are committed to breaking Dobby up from her boyfriend, deciding that the matter of which of them gets to date her if they succeed can be resolved afterwards. Mark looks for work, starting a company with a stressed Johnson, almost landing his dream job as a guide for historic walks, then becoming a waiter in Gail's Mexican restaurant—all the while trying to get anywhere with Dobby.
