The only problem is that we often don't know about it. My installation took over 2 hours. Unfortunately, it appears that there is no such quick workaround this time. Chibisuke mentioned that a reboot prompt will appear when Package Manager is done, but this didn't happen in my case. You might just be in the last lap of completing the 2 hour installation and lose power. Open a command prompt using run as administrator.

Andreas, thanks for the info. Configure the Start menu to display the Administration Tools shortcut, if it is not already there. Some of the tools still didn't work, but at least there was a workaround available. Windows 7 has made it very easy tobackup your computer. There are many files available for this download. Heck, can someone please tell me why tools that originally don't belong to Windows come as an update? In the Programs and Features area, click Turn Windows features on or off. Not sure why it fails out, or if it is just something that happened to me a few times :S , but incase it happens to somewhere else, hope its useful. I guess this means that no reboot was required, but I restarted anyway. Also, the word wrap or something on every site that gives this advice does not help matters. Begin sequencing and when you start monitoring, choose to perform a custom installation. This problem is not new.
